Illenium – Ashes LP

February 15, 2016 by Nick Grindrod

It’s finally out! Illenium’s debut album is one of those that will be very hard to top in future, and showcases Illenium’s style in its absolute finest. It’s got ten songs, reaching blistering climaxes of Melodic Dubstep while keeping a general chilled vibe. Each song has its own personality too – Spirals and Afterlife both contain build ups from nothing to epic drops, whereas With You and It’s All On U stay more chilled throughout their entireties. Most other songs on the album do have catchy drops, but not the kind that you’d hear in the climax of a set – again, they’re more chilled than that.

The diversity and quality of vocalists is also very impressive, with every song’s personality perfectly complemented by its vocalist. You won’t see any very well known names on there, but in this case that means absolute quality. That’s really the theme of the whole album, and is most definitely worthy of your support. Give it a listen on iTunes and a download!
