We catch up with London trio KNOXA this week to hear more about the making of their last single, and when we can expect more sick music from them.
Congratulations on another wicked single! Describe the reactions people have had to “Something More”…
Thank you very much! So far the reaction has been really good and had some great feedback. We’ve still got our VIP mix to drop and a remix package too so it will be interesting to see how it all does.
As a trio, do you all have individual roles to play or is everything done as a team?
It’s a bit of combination of the above. Everyone’s got different strengths, which is great and means that we can work apart remotely but for the most part; we work as a team 24/7.
What made you want to work with Georgia Ku for the release?
Georgia’s got the sickest voice and she’s so easy to work with – it was a no brainer to put out another single with her on. I’m sure we’ll get together again further down the line and make some more tunes.
Your festival and show season has been pretty full on this summer. Can you pick out a few highlights?
I think for all of us, playing a sold out Roundhouse with Klingande, Kungs and Felix Jahen was a highlight – the show went off and Kes even managed to dislocate his knee onstage and carry on somehow, aha.
Which ones are on your dream list to play?
Tomorrowland for sure, along with Coachella!
Do you have any little rituals before you play out?
We make sure we’re together for a good hour before we go on which just chills us out and gets us in a good frame of mind! Nothing too weird, haha.
What are a couple of set essentials right now?
Right now:
CID – “Together” (Niko the Kid Remix)
Disclosure & Friend Within – “The Mechanism”
Finally… how long do we have to wait for your next single? (Already hyped)
Not long all being well 😉 January latest!
