Maduk- Never Give Up

May 23, 2016 by Ty Sterling

maduk- never give up

After releasing many incredible tunes on Liquicity Records and Viper Recordings, Maduk made a home at Hospital records to release this masterpiece of an album, titled “Never Give Up.” It features some of his most notable styles, uplifting and more chilled out types of liquid drum and bass but also he dabbled into creating some half-time drum and bass and even drumstep. Hailing from The Netherlands, this man will be the next biggest face on the drum and bass scene. Mark my words.
The track I feel that generated the most hype off of his album was probably Got Me Thinking (feat. Veela) considering how successful his other collaboration with her was, Ghost Assassin. Although not dismissing how great that track turned out, the honorable mention from me over all is The End (feat. Voicians). Now I hadn’t heard of Voicians until their recent debut on Liquicity’s compilation album Alchemy, and it made me question why I hadn’t before. And this track has the same effect. You don’t hear many male vocalists in the liquid drum and bass scene but his beautiful singing along with Maduk’s skilled vocal chops make this track #1 on the album.
All in all, I’m very proud to see how far Maduk has come. He blew up in the past few years and is now one of the most requested DJ’s in the drum and bass scene, shown here on a poll ran in the Liquicity Events page for who everyone wanted to see most at their second summer festival.

The most surprising thing about that poll is that he even surpassed Netsky who is arguably one of the biggest names in Drum and Bass. I guess you could even say Maduk might be the next Netsky in the upcoming years! But overall, the album blew me away, I’d rate it a 9/10 overall. Check out some of the tracks from his album here.
