Misanthrop is what you’d call a quiet achiever, putting out quality records for years and years while also managing his label Neosignal, and collaborating with Phace under the same name: Neosignal. In all of that time, he’s never released a solo album, however after a lot of time in the studio he’s finally come out to show everyone what he’s got.
To put it simply, Misanthrop (the album) is brutal. 13 tracks of balls to the wall Neurofunk bass slams you from start to finish, without relenting. Not a single song has lyrics, only some have melodies, but every single one is fully loaded with bass. Some are catchy and others are just straight up sonic fury. Essentially, Misanthrop has played to his strengths as a producer with this album and gone as hard as he possibly can, and in that respect he’s well and truly succeeded. This isn’t the kind of album that would appeal to a mainstream audience, instead it’s aimed at his fans: bass freaks. Specifically, Drum and Bass or Neurofunk freaks. You can listen to most songs off the album below, and download it through Neosignal here. Be warned though, this album goes very very hard.
