After a series of singles and B-sides, Muzzy has come back with a concept EP that takes you on a futuristic journey through the sounds of Drum and Bass. The prelude and title track sets the scene, before Junction Seven drops into an innovative yet heavy halftime tune, showing that Muzzy’s got what it takes to make a song that is unlike anything else that you’ll have heard before.
Play features up and coming band UK:ID, and is commercial sounding in a good way – it’s catchy, got a singalong element and has a consistent beat that’s great to dance to. The final song is Children of Hell, a seven-minute epic that doesn’t feel like it goes anywhere near that long. If you’re a fan of Drum and Bass, UK-sounding music or even concepts translated into musical form, this EP is for you. And is it well produced or what?
