Noisia – Tentacles / The Entangled

July 29, 2016 by Nick Grindrod

nosia-outer-edges

Noisia have just released two more songs from their upcoming album Outer Edges, and they’re RIDICULOUS.

SERIOUSLY.

The first one, Tentacles, is probably going to end up becoming a Drum and Bass classic, with one of the best vocal manipulations EVER in a gripping build up to an unexpected but perfect Jump Up drop. The beat is tight, the bass is perfectly designed and the vocal references to, um, tentacles take the back seat for the rest of song but pop up occasionally when they’re needed.

The Entangled is a vastly different affair to Tentacles. Featuring an orchestral build up that threatens to drop into Techno, instead Noisia bring an old style Dubstep drop that looks back to the sound that was more common early in their careers, before the big explosion of the genre. We now have five songs off the album to get our ears around, and it’s now obvious that Outer Edges is going to be one of the best albums on the year in terms of production and sound design. That being said, Noisia are some of the best producers when it comes to that anyway, so it should be expected. Anyway, make sure to give these a listen and wrap your ears around the ridiculous sounds that Noisia have managed to put together.
