I originally decided to check out this song, honestly, because of the name “We’re Not Friends”. it made me laugh. That being said, once I put on the track, I was hooked. With this style of dubstep, a voice like Brenna v.K.’s makes for a great vocal addition. It is a pretty standard dubstep track, a fast tempo verse and chorus that leads into a crescendo and drop. the drop becomes so diverse, a plethora of samples that coincide with each other to become an amazing strong and aggressive beat.
The guitar sample, that sounds like a live-performance solo was cut and added to the track. I love when something different like that is added to the song. Accompanying the guitar are, as I said, a plethora of different samples and rhythms. This beat pushes the song, making distinct sections where the beat changes. That coupled with a sprinkling of the vocals keeps the listener on their toes.
