To be perfectly honest, I hadn’t heard of Nurko before I heard this song. Going in with an open mind, my attention was instead directed toward Alina Renae’s beautiful vocals. the background instrumentation allows them to stand out, but provides the emotional setting for them to shine. The drop hits, and takes you by surprise. It’s closer to Dubstep than the Future Bass style that the entire intro teased, although there are hints of it behind the vocal chops. It sounds like Nurko tried to straddle the two genres simultaneously, and instead settled on the vocal chops to form the lead. The level at which he succeeded is most likely dependent on individual tastes, but nonetheless Let Me Go is definitely an enjoyable tune to listen to.
