The genre of Future Bass is all about a sweet, high pitched style that makes you feel like you’re soaring above the clouds, but rarely does a song come out in that style that so perfectly epitomizes that style and wrenches your emotions at the same time. The start of Crystal Clouds could have come right out of a 20 year old game, but when the bass and beat hit it takes you off into a different world, one of happiness and dancing. This is a very polished song, and sounds like a nod to Porter Robinson – which is also a compliment to Phantom Sage’s skills given that he’s managed to pull off Porter’s style so well.
