I’m going to start off by admitting that I’m not the greatest fan of UK Garage – it can be too repetitive and place too much emphasis on the low end for my liking. For this reason I was really surprised when I heard a relatively unknown producer make a Garage song that I actually really liked, but still fit well within the genre. REDgreenBLUE put lots of good ideas into this song, and the bass progression is the main one. It’s really catchy, and the swirls in between add a layer of complexity to the track. The synth slightly changes quite frequently as well, which is a breath of fresh air on a basic beat that hardly changes for the song’s full length. The video game inspired synth was well chosen and is very pleasing to listen to – in fact, the entire song is. Support REDgreenBLUE and have a listen below!
