You may not know the name Sepalot, but there’s a reason behind that: the music is straight out of left field. Mainstream genres? Don’t even think about it. He’s just dropped the first part of a two-part LP, “Hide&”. Nine songs strong, the German producer’s sounds take influences from Future Bass, Jazz, Future Bass, Hip Hop and more, without actually falling in or around any of those genres. Nonetheless, Hide& is a lot of fun to listen through, with moments that will make you wonder how he’s so original, and others that will have you well and truly moving to the beat. This isn’t the kind of album where you pick a favorite and just put that on repeat; instead this is a body of work (well, half of it actually) that combines to create an atmosphere unlike much else out there.
