I was recently sent this brand new music video for the Steve Power’s track, “Good Music” featuring Jack Frostt on the vocals. The moment I heard it, I knew right away that this is one of those tracks that you put on at a party and everyone goes wild. It has that island feel with the steel drums and all. Essentially, this is a summer jam. Jack Frostt’s vocals really solidify that choice. He was extremely catchy and after the third or fourth time listening, I was singing along. It is solid track. I happened to listen to this with friends and they immediately asked where they could get it. That’s the highest honor in my regards.
Being that they sent the music video, I thought I’d give my two cents. Now, I am not a major video guy. I watch a number of YouTubers and had basic video editing classes as well as film theory classes. That’s as far as the extent of my knowledge goes.
That being said, I wasn’t thrilled with the music video. It just didn’t fit the music what-so-ever. First off, I think that 60 frames per second really made it seem off. The music video plays better in 480p on YouTube. Second, the venue should have not been Brooklyn, but maybe a beach. Third, it seemed like the editing for the male dancers were sped up. Forth, there was so much cutting, I couldn’t keep up. It was focused more on editing rather than cinematography. Lastly, I get Steve Powers made the track, but he stuck out like a sore thumb.
Overall, the track is real good. I would not let the music video take away from the production and the good nature of the track. There was fantastic choreography (outside that like 15 second window and jumping with their hand in the air) and it was quite appealing. I love the New York theme. I must admit (embarrassingly) I attempted to dance like some of the dancers. I respect their talent and skill and will stick to pretending to shake my hips. I thoroughly enjoy this track and will put this in my party playlists. Check it out now!
