As summer comes to an end and we enter the fall season, Hulaween festi-goers are excited about the upcoming Suwannee Hulaween Music Festival. Earlier this week Silver Wrapper announced this years theme, “Stringier Things” based off the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things. Purple Hat Productions and Silver Wrapper are hoping for a huge costume turnout relating to the style of vintage 1980s supernatural horror and it’s pop culture. So if you’re into Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” or 1980’s horror movies, you’re in for an awesome time! So get your most creative 80’s horror attire ready and be prepared for a fun four night event with music, arts, and friendly faces.
Along with Hulaween’s theme announcement, they have also announced three additional artists adding to the festivals unique lineup. Additions include RB&B supergroup Russo, Benevento, & Burbridge (band members including Joe Russo, keyboardist Marco Benevento, and bassist Oteil Burbridge), London’s indie duo Oh Wonder, and Brooklyn’s jazz ensemble Antibalas. This adds variety for attendees and makes it so that there is something for everyone from electronic, to jam, even rock.
The festival is thrown by Colorado jam band The String Cheese Incident, who will be performing with a variety of artists and usually surprise guests. Last year Wu-Tang Clan’s very own RZA performed on Saturday night as a host for a 70’s themed music performance. This year, The String Cheese Incident will be headlining with many artists such as Disclosure, Logic, STS9, Big Gigantic, and Rebelution.
