Tadashi, the creative identity of 21-year-old Japanese-American artist Dieter Frank, began his musical journey at a young age, immersing himself in piano lessons from the age of four. Growing up, he continuously experimented with sound, from melodic hip-hop to hyperpop, and by his college years, Tadashi was producing his own music. This early effort earned him recognition locally, and his music evolved into a distinctive blend of raw vocal work and bilingual lyricism, touching audiences in both the UK and USA. By 2024, Tadashi was performing live in Tokyo, striving to establish his place in the broader music scene while aiming to elevate Asian American representation.
Now, Tadashi is back with ‘hedonism.’, a new six-track project where he seamlessly fuses various influences into a unified body of work. The release captures an essence of spontaneity, especially highlighted in tracks like “mismatch.” Reflecting on the song’s creation, Tadashi shares, “i finished ‘mismatch’ in one night… I wrote ‘mismatch’ about the realization that your connection with someone is dying, on a lifeline, etc. because you guys just don’t mesh.” His words encapsulate the rawness that makes his sound uniquely relatable, channeling high-energy and raw emotion into each track.
With ‘hedonism.’, Tadashi showcases what’s on his mind musically speaking full throttle. He brings an unfiltered honesty to each song, exploring themes of instant gratification, and the double-edged sword it represents.
