Tiësto Taps in the Asian Music Business in the Biggest Way Possible

August 13, 2015 by Alessio Anesi

There’s no way, anything can happen while following Tjen Vervest but is definitely impossible to get bored, I’ve personally lost the count of how many times in the last decade Tiesto caught me off guards with one of his exciting news, but I know for sure that he did it again in these days.

After gaining the headline slot for the upcoming Shanghai’s branded Budweiser STORM Music Festival, the Dutch boss have thought that something had to be done to get fully in the right Asian atmosphere and, just to stay true to his own style, he came up with a brand new version of his song ‘Change Your World’ in collaboration with no other than the Chinese leading pop star, Jane Zhang.

While the progressive base is pure Tiesto style (amazing but nothing revolutionary) the king role is made by the lyrics that, apart from the title chorus line, are totally sung in Mandarin Chinese: definitely something that we don’t see everyday. Despite the prejudices, I assure you that the unusual combination match perfectly and it ends to create something that would be a very fresh material also for our dancefloors.

Besides, this tap in the relatively virgin Chinese market represents another step further in the endless career of this amazing superhero DJ who, once more, has proved that music has no limits.

Below you can find a ‘behind the scene’ video with some words directly by Tiesto and Jane Zhang themselves.
