Uppermost has just recently released a new EP and it is so smoothly put together. Uppermost is a talented producer from Paris that has been putting out massive tracks for quite some time now. I personally have been following him for a little over a year now since his Control album hooked me the moment I listened to some of the songs, most specifically “Beautiful Light” and “Travel To The Top.”
Going further into this new Impact EP, Uppermost did not hold back on having talented vocalists on many of his tracks. All 4 of the songs with a vocalist have a different voice that embodies the song and add a new element to it. My personal favorite is “Whisper” featuring the gorgeous voice of Jessica Gabrielle. The future vibe that Uppermost puts into this track is so powerful, it is something I can see Flume or Odesza playing in a set. All the instruments alongside Jessica’s voice meld so well together. This is not only the case for this specific song, but for all the others as well!
Shifting towards the two songs with no featured singer, they are still able to hold very well and stand on their own. Specifically, I thoroughly enjoyed “Cyclic Control” as it has a very French style of house to it; it reminds me of something Tchami would drop in a set.
A song to not forget about is “Talisman (feat. Lisa Alma)” which has undoubtedly been getting the most support and exposure lately. I have seen a lot of other sites and collectives posting about this track, and rightfully so. It has such a care-free feel to it and just makes me feel oddly happy; not to mention how well Lisa’s voice goes along with the chime-y and mellow sounds of this song.
Keep Uppermost on your radar if you enjoy future/house types of tracks that keep you tuned in at every drop and melody. I’m really hoping to see him on future line ups as he as an act that would be well worth seeing.
