Having made a serious splash with a brand new 2017 update of the dance classic “Agolo,” BGRZ is an up and coming talent to keep an eye on over the course of the year. We hit him with our 8 Questions to get to know him better…
1) Who are three of your all-time favourite artists, past or present?
First of all, thanks for taking your time to have this interview with me, I really appreciate it.
That’s a tough question, as it is hard to me to give an objective response. To be honest, I do not have a favorite artist as such. I widely appreciate the work and the career of a number of artists. I can name Cesaria Evora, Angelique Kidjo, Salif Keita, Youssou Ndour, Drake, Chance the rapper, Stromae, Alicia Keys, Diana Krall, Wizkid, Fela Kuti… But it is really hard to choose only 3!
2) Is there a particular tune that you have never got sick of?
The tune I’m never sick of? “Ojuelegba” from Wizkid or “Collabo” from P Square & Don Jazzi, without a doubt. I could listen to those tunes for hours.
3) Describe your perfect day…
My perfect day would be to wake up first of all, and to thank God for this new day that I am able to see. Then I’d go to the studio to work with Stevie Wonder and another studio session with Drake. At the end of the day, I would go back home, and share a great dinner with my family. That is more than a perfect day to me.
4) What would people who know you well say about you in three words?
Loyal, hard-working, and always busy.

5) Ideal studio layout…
My ideal layout is really simple: my laptop, my plugins, my synth and a mike, and BGRZ is ready to conquer the world!
6) Is there something musically you would like to do more of next year?
First, it is important to me to achieve the project I am actually working on. After that, I’d like to collaborate with international artists, and share my passion and my musical universe with thousands, or even millions of people.
7) Where do you want to be in 10 years?
As for now, I am doing my best to live the present moment; to enjoy it and to move forward step by step in my projects. For sure, I’d like to have at least an album to my credit. I also want to travel the world, to share my music and learn from others.
8) Where can we buy your new track?
