[By The Wavs Exclusive] 8 Questions With Dyna

June 12, 2017 by Jemma Abraham

Joining us for another round of 8 Questions this week is the mega talented, super popular Dutch producer and DJ Dyna, who has just recently released a new single in the form of “Mercy.” Read on to discover more on what makes this special artist tick…

1) Who are three of your all-time favourite artists, past or present?

At the first place, DJ Chuckie. He was a big inspiration for me when I started making music. He was/is an icon in The Netherlands. Second, Jay Z – love his records! Last but not least, Michael Jackson. His music will live forever and he always will be a legend.

2) Is there a particular tune that you have never got sick of?

At the moment, Future – “Mask Off,” that tune is sick. Loving the melodies and his vocals on the track.

3) Describe your perfect day…

A day with my son and lovely girlfriend, cruising my car, dinner at a good restaurant and closing the day with a good movie.

4) What would people who know you well say about you in three words?

Hardworking, positive and cars (I love sports cars!)

5) Ideal studio layout…

The cliché answer will be a studio with the best gear in the world on a tropical island. I have a good studio, but all you need is a keyboard, a soundcard, some speakers and a subwoofer (and a mic when you want to record vocals). Making good music isn’t about having expensive gear, it’s about creativity and production skills.

6) What is your most valued material possession?

My house.

7) Is there something musically you would like to do more of next year?

I want to make dope music for my audience here in The Netherlands, but besides that I also want to continue making club bangers for the bigger audience. Those are the tracks people get crazy in raves on festivals and stuff like that. I just want to make music for everybody!

8) Where do you want to be in 10 years?

I hope to tour over the whole world. One of my biggest dreams is to do a sold out show in my hometown Amsterdam, in the Amsterdam ArenA venue. That would be a dream come true.
