We love the subtly grooving cover of September‘s “Cry For You” that recently got released by producer Leo Gold, and he has plenty more music on the horizon. We invited him to answer our exclusive 8 Questions…
1) Who are three of your all-time favourite artists, past or present?
Ellie Goulding, Bon Iver and Owl City.
2) Is there a particular tune that you have never got sick of?
I’m usually the type of person who finds a song and puts it on repeat for days until I get sick of it and find a new one haha… But there’s songs I’ve never gotten sick of too of course, the first one that comes to mind is “Jealous” by Labrinth. Such a beautiful song.
3) Describe your perfect day…
Good question! I’m the worst at routines, and I love being spontaneous. I love waking up in one city one day, and in another the next. An ideal day for me would be waking up by the sunshine, drink a vegan smoothie, take a morning swim in the ocean, go out and do something fun and adventurous during the day, and later just hang out in the studio working on music with friends. As long as I can make music and hang out with my friends and family, I will be happy!
4) What would people who know you well say about you in three words?
Dedicated, hard-working and compassionate.
5) Ideal studio layout…
I would love to have a large live recording room with big windows and filled with unique instruments and old recording gear. A creative space where I could just pick up any instrument and be inspired.
6) What is your most valued material possession?
Probably my computer, that’s something I couldn’t be without for a very long time. I just love producing music too much to be without it.
7) Is there something musically you would like to do more of next year?
I definitely want to spend next year playing more live shows!
8) Where do you want to be in 10 years?
Another very good question! There’s so many things I want to achieve until then. And to be honest the thought scares me a bit because I know a lot of my friends will start having families by then and I just want to continue to make music. At least that’s what it feels like right now. But I’m picturing myself touring in various different projects, producing my own music as well as music for other artists. Besides the music I want to work with and invest in projects that help make the world better, for people, animals and the environment.
