It has been announced that CounterPoint Music and Arts Festival will not be returning to Kingston Downs in Georgia. The three-day festival, which usually occurs during the spring, announced that they would be taking a hiatus in order to make some changes and improve the experience. There will be no camping near the Etowah River, food and drink, world-class music, or art festival this year.
According to the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau, this music festival is one of the best events events with the largest economic impact for the area.
On a March 11th Facebook announcement, the Festival pleaded with its followers, “…break out of the mold, continue to think differently and always, always be the CounterPoint”.
This is the second festival to be cancelled in the George area, with TomorrowWorld being cancelled because their owners announced bankruptcy and because of the weather issues. Hopefully Georgia doesn’t stay festival-free for long, as both festivals announced they are working to improve their future events.
