During the International Music Summit in Ibiza, Erick Morillo sat down with Peter Tong to come clean about what has happened in his life with drugs. He admitted that back he used to have a ketamine addiction that put him to the point in which he almost lost his arm. When asked about his time using ketamine and where it put him, Morillo stated, “I did actually. I have a nice scar that, funnily enough, looks like my company logo.” He was destroying his body and he admits it. When he attempted to urinate, it would not go through. He had to go to the hospital because it meant so much pain. At the hospital he woke up to find that part of his arm had to be removed because of the infection from injecting ketamine.
Morillo made three trips to rehab before he was able to get clean. He states that the first time he went it was because someone had asked him to. The second time was because the courts mandated it. The final time he went he went to rehab for himself. He wanted to get better after that experience and almost losing his life.
He also admitted in his interview what the contributing factors were. There were three arrests and a messy divorce, which encouraged not only the drug use but also the depression.
