March 15, 2014 by Grant Austin

Last night, a tragic incident happened at Future Music Festival Asia. Allegedly five people died during the A State of Trance portion of the festival. It was confirmed that actually one person passed away on the grounds of the festival grounds. All of the deaths were due to overdosing on drugs. This isn’t the first time this has happened and sadly will not be the last time either. With all of this, the authorities have advised in not proceeding with day three of the festival. They will be offering refunds and details of that will be announced within the week. Here is the official statement below.

[…] Future Music Festival Asia is supposed to take place in Singapore next weekend. Unfortunately, whether the event will actually take place is sadly up in the air as the police have rejected applications to hold the event there not once, but twice. Livescape Singapore which organizes the event has already sold approximately 15,000 of the 20,000 tickets, but they might have to be refunded as the police cite “serious concerns” due to the potential drug abuse at the event. If you recall, concert organizers had to cancel day three last year after six Malaysians died and another 16 were hospitalised for drug related reasons. […]
